Which Skimmer?

Could someone recommend a good skimmer for about 90-100g of total water volume? (30ish gallon DT, 40g sump, 29g fuge) Thanks

I like ASM skimmers, a G2 would be good for that size system. go to AquaCave.com they have them the cheapest

I like the power pro by MTC. I've been running the quad venturi model for years but they do make a dual venturi and single venturi model as well. There is also their large 6500 model air stone skimmer if you prefer the "non destructive" route. You can google the web site at Marine Technical Concepts.

Hmmm so much to pick from... Do any of these stand out as being better than the rest? Thanks for all of the suggestions

I recently set up my big tank (120g), and believe me i shopped around. I ended up buying my skimmer (ASM G2) and my return pump (Eheim 1260) from a website called AquaCave. They are out of Chicago, and I can tell you they are great to deal with....by the way all the ASM skimmers come with the pump and plumbing!

Thanks, I actually had aquacave bookmarked and saw them on there. I'm just trying to make sure I get the best skimmer I can since they are all pretty expensive and everyone seems to recommend a different skimmer. You are happy with the ASM G2 though?

Yeah, it is a great skimmer and won't break the bank. My LFS wants $360 for theirs and AquaCave sells it for $240. Use 5% off discount code on their website too... it is CM241

alotttttttttttt better skimmers out there then the asm for the money, the vertex in100 would be a nice fit, the new octo extreme 160 the 200 as well but might be a little big for the system, guy on here selling a das ex1 { personally use this skimmer myself} also a das ex 2 guy selling on here, was a euroreef rs135 somewhere on here as well, one thing to check is require sump depth, from the thread seams the octo's with the bb pump are running best at around 6", after 19 skimmers i haven't found any that are leaps and bounds above the rest. excluding some of the junks skimmers, and i have had from asm, er, etts, bk, vertex and so on

ugh lol, well my sumps height is 16". I'm trying to get a good skimmer because I want to have clams and sps eventually. Seems like everyone has different skimmer preferences. my sump is in kind of a hard to get place, I know you have to empty the cup, but do they require a lot of maintenance?

My top three would be (not in order):
Super reef octopus (preferably the XP cones) you can get at - Reef specialty
SWC ( preferably the cone) you can get at - saltwater connection
Bubble magus NAC 7 cone you can get at - Bulk reef supply

All of those can be brought at other stores beside the ones I listed.

I know all of those are cones... thats just Because I like the cone skimmers the best! :) But all of those brands are good cone or not. Just my opinion

your water depth is 16" in the sump ? what height and width do you have to workwith this will also help in making suggestions, also the etss sump buddy 40 is a kick butt skimmer, actually been one of my fav's other then it does have some noise on the downdraft and my tank is next to bedroom door
