which skimmer?????

Hey Folks,

I am in the middle of my 180 in wall. I have the stand built with the tank on it. I am debating between a Reeflo Orca which is out of sump or a bubble King. If you had the choice what would you buy? My decision will obviously alter how I set the sump and the rest of the plumbing.

well i built my own off of the reeflo orca.its a bit bigger.i love it but after dealing with making sure it doesnt leak at all and worrying all the time i would go with an in sump bubble king 250.they by far are awesome skimmers from what ive read especially with the electricity.

I was leaning towards the Bubble king. It will be one less hole in the sump too.

If money is not an issue, for sure BK - alternatively you can look at ATB Small

My next skimmer will be a ATB cone Large. I'm using a Deltec right now and am relatively happy with it.

I would go with a cone or one of the new matrix skimmers. I have one on my 240 and love it

I have an ETSS right now. Not being used so I will probably sell it. I will probably buy the Bubble King.

hands down I would buy a reeflo. I love my orca 250 and it works wonders on my 450 gallon with 230 gallon sump.

You can always feed less water through the protein skimmer. I used to run a BK400 ext in my 240g cube.
