Which Tunze for 150

My tank is a 150 reef. I have the new all glass dual overflows which are now located on the back side of the tank instead of in the back corners. I am now using 3 1200 maxi jets on a natural wavemaker. One maxi is located in the back left top corner, facing the flow to the front glass. The other 2 maxi's are located opposite each other on the front upper sides with one on and then the other going off. I want to replace this with the tunze.
My question is, what tunze stream system would work best for me, how many and where would I position the powerheads? I would like to have some sort of wave motion or strength adjustments if cost effective. I also read that a timer on each power head turning on and off every hour or so would also work. I am not sure if that would shorten the life of the powerheads. Your help is appreciated. Thanks

The timers do not shorten life. What are the tank dimensions? 150's come in a few shapes.

If you don't have fine sand and mainly keep SPS the TS24 kit, otherwise two 6000 and a multicontroller.

Heat is a function of energy efficiency. The more efficient, the less heat. A 6100 uses less power than two maxi jet 1200's to pump 3200gph, a single 6100 should raise the temp of your tank no more than 1.5 degrees.

I should have said over ambient, your tank will likely be the same temp it is now.

Back corners aimed just shy of the center front pane. I would use pulse mode, a 6000 only covers 4ft, the 6100 is just to much for a tank narrower than 24".

I have a 150g, 60x24x24 with two Stream 6080s. I'm thinking of substituting one of the Stream 6080s with a 6000 or a 6100. I'd like to get a 6100 just in case I get a larger tank in the future, and I think the wave simulation off the 6100 would create better intermittent flow and turbulence throughout the tank. My only concern is that the Stream 6080s are already pretty powerful, and I'm wondering if I could dial down the 6100 so it doesn't blow my 6-inch sandbed all over the place. The tank is mainly SPS with about 150 pounds of live rock.

If you used the larger outlet and dialed it down all the way it should be OK. Personally I would get the 6000, you only have to buy the transformer to upgrade it to the 6100 when you need to.
