Which Tunze would work

I have a 90 mixed reef. Growth has caused some issues with flow. Some tips are getting erosion from being blasted from laminar flow from the MJs and other tips are getting erosion from unidirectional, uninterrupted flow from the seio. I need good, soft random flow at the top and softer flow at the bottom for my LPS and soft stuff (esp. the Goniopora and the leather). In the pics below, the Seio 820 goes from L>R across the top, front to back/middle. The Front MJ 1200 on right goes R>L down to give the LPS and leather a little flow. Back MJ is trying to break the flow of the 820 some, but not doing much good.

Big issue is space and where to put them. (Sorry for the photo quality. Was in a hurry)

1. A PH can't go in the back left b/c of the Stylophora and A. yongei. So I would need to mount in the front left.

2. Space in the back right is limited due to corals. You can see the MJ 1200 in the above picture and it shoots through this "channel"

The tips of my blue tort are getting hammered by the Seio and MJ. This is about 2300gph flow and 26x turn over, and I don't think I need much more.

So what Tunzes would be most appropriate for space, placement and mounting height from water surface?

I think 6100's would be too much and I know that is what most people suggest for a 90 with SPS. Suggestions are appreciated.

I would get either 2 6000's or 2 6055. The 6000's will have a shorter wait list, the 6055 will start coming in next week but it will likely take a couple months just to fill existing orders. The 6000's also have the versatility to be upgraded to 6100's.

Thanks Roger. I have a couple more questions now.

1. How close to the water surface can the 6000 be mounted via the magnet without sucking air?

2. What are their full dimensions? The website lists 3.8 x 4.6 which I assume is H & W. What about Length?

3. If put on the multicontroller (7095 I think), what % range of flow does it allow? _ to 100%

If you can't wait for the 6055s and space is a major concern, may I suggest three or four 6025s? The 6025s can be easily modded to pump out 1,250gph each, that will give you 3,750gph to 5,000gph, much more than what you have now, and they are much smaller than the pumps you have, flow is wider and gentler, best yet only draw 7W each, adding much less heat in the tank also.

Only downside is the 6025s and 6045s are designed for continuous use, not controllable. I wouldn't even put them on a timer to switch them on and off every hour.

Two 6055s and a controller will be perfect for your tank if you can wait.

Thanks for the compliment on the tank and for the advice. I ordered 3 6055s and a controller today. I figured I have done pretty well thus far, so a little while longer won't hurt too much. I think I need 3 to hit the different areas. I may just have to set my high speed at < the max.

I went and looked at the size of a 6100 today in a 4ft tank. They would be too big for the areas I need them, and I would like to get something small so I could actually see my stylophora better.

So, I will join the wait for the much anticipated 6055's.
