Which type of Plumbing

Ok so i'm in the process of building a custom stand for my 120 dual overflow tank. The stand it comes with is only 28 inches high. I have a Trigger Systems sump which leave virtually no space for Skimmer or plumbing. The stand i'm building will be around 36". Question is what are the pros and cons to PVC vs Tubing or hose for plumbing? Not quite sure which way to go.

If they both serve the same purpose is one easier then the other. Just need some input on which way i should go with the plumbing.

I'm in the setup phase of my new 80G. I'll do hard plumbing(PVC), its easier to work with, and looks cleaner. I'm sure there are other reasons for using PVC.

You can use either one. I prefer to use tubing when possible to help prevent leaks and reduce any vibration issues. You can also use flex pvc which will help reduce the number of fittings as well.

I used tubing for both overflow and return without any issues. It was cheap and easy. I was on the hard pvc plan until talking to Jeff at Lifereef (used his overflow) who recommended I plumb with flexible tubing. I did it and never looked back. Actually in hindsight I would do anything Jeff recommends.

Guy I bought the tank from used PVC, I used pvc, but most of the tanks I seen while picking up stuff were plumber with flexible tubing. I personally think it more ease of plumbing then anything else, but I can see not having a bunch of elbows would be better for the water flow.
