which would be safer to have in the long run. canopy retro fit lighting, or Nova Extreme T-5 Lighting? i don't really care for sps type corals so if i can go with power compacts let me know.....the one that caught my eye is the one for orbit. this is for a 55g.

Power compacts will work but T5's look better and are stronger. If you are not going to have SPS than either will be fine.
