I have an all white anemone with a pink base. I have been told that there is no such thing and it must be bleached. I bought it from a high end LFS with others just like it. Sorry no pic
It's usually the opposite -- not enough light. Zooxanthellae within the anemone is typically brown. When it dies, the anemone turns white. Since zooxanthellae provide the anemone with nutrients, it typically dies without it.
Interesting, I've had it now for over a month and has looked very healthy. I think it even ate a Flame Angel and a Coral beauty! I have a Maroon clown hosting it and bringing it food. The last couple of days it has had shriveled up tips and leaning. It bounced back yesterday but this morning is on the sand bad on its side. Ok, now appears to be waking up a little. Do these things sleep shriveled up and on their side?? He perked up a little when I turned the light on
Anemones act diff, still dont know what kind you have, need pics. Some anemones shrivel up a little after lights out but shouldnt be doing it during the day.
What size tank, what are your water parameters? Numbers please. What lights do you have? And post pics please
