Anyone ever try painting the back of their tank white instead of the traditional black or blue.....?

My current tank is dark blue, but I am picking up the new tank on wed and plan to use white starboard.

just a thought....
if anyone has pics or links please post'em

I'm sure it has been done, but I don't think it would look that good. I would think it would look "sterile" and would accentuate any algae that grows on the glass.

Personally I think white looks the best, and often most natural. However, the best appearance is if the background is actually a short distance away from the back of the glass (not right up against it or painted on it) because you get a difference in light intensity that progresses down the background, and actually gives a really cool appearance of depth that you just don't get with all black or blue backgrounds that are so popular.
