is there such a thing? i got an anemone with a pair of clowns and it looks just like a bubble tip but its pure white and it has a bright pink foot.....what should i know about this....lighting....flow....placement? i have 2 250 watt MH in a 135, with 2 koralia 4's

I have a friend that all of his rbta's turned white. He had a digital therometer in his tank which was reading a temp wnl's. He later found out his temperature in tank was 89 degrees. Maybe this is what happened to this rbta.

oh ok so.....where should i place it? and what color do you think it will be once colored up?

If there's no hint of color in it at all, there's not really any way to know what color it might be. Could be brown, could be green, could be red, could be some combination of the three.

Bleached anemones can be quite difficult to nurse back to health...best of luck!

it has a corally pinkish base with a whie translucent (SP?) almost coloration and the tips are a very thick pure white.

actually yours might be a BTA morph, I have recently landed a few of that type. However there used to be another closer white-tipped morph that does have a darker shade tenacles, so not sure if that is a new morph or not.

Talking to the guys that deal with indo collectors, alot of the BTAs are now collected in deeper water, so might also explain the lack of zoothelles.

the three nem's i have in my tank all turned into different color morphs after i took them home...

the first one had a pink foot with a green pearl on it's tentacles... it looked nice under actnics and moonlight led's... eventually it turned brown with a green pearl with a brown foot...

the second one i took home was neon green with a brown foot... this guy turned into a gorgeous green nem with florecent pink acents on the tentacles and a pink foot...

the third one was the brightest most neon green nem i've ever seen... it had a green foot... later it turned solid white with a light green pearl over the tentacles with a green foot... it doesn't look bleached... it just looks like the tentacles of a white condilactus anemone... it's very healthy and is getting huge...

anyways... i got all three from the same LFS and they turned into different colors than i expected... i knew they were bleached, and that they weren't going to stay that color... but it's still a trip on how unpredictable they are...

my RBTA that i got a month ago is also changing colors big time... i knew it was stressed from the shipping... but it allready doubled in size and is getting a strong green pearl...

good luck with that BTA... try to keep it happy and it will make you happy...
