White film on colony.

These were covered part way with sand a few months ago. when I uncovered them, they had this white film/ fungus on it and have never recovered.

There's one really easy way to tell what it is, take it out of the tank and if it smells bad then you need to do an iodine dip, shake it vigorously in the dip bucket to make sure you get as much of the fungus off as you can, and then get it under really good flow asap.
 
Dude, be very careful with that specific " TRUE " palythoa which can give you the strongest hit of paly toxin.......
 
Not sure what exactly it is. We got it from Norm and he picked it up as a hitch hiker.


How strong do you make the dip?
 
I'd add iodine until the water has a yellow tint to it but don't quote me on that because I am no expert on dipping corals.
 
Now it seems to look worse than it did. I have it in a moderate flow area. Will let it go for a few more days and see whats happening with it.
