White fur looking stuff on my zoa

Hi,

We've had a problem with our zoa since we bought it. A couple of days after we got it home only a small part of it would open. Was told by lfs that it was just settling in and to leave it.

Anyway, not long after that we found what my husband thought was the beginning stage of a jelly fish attached to it, which we removed.

The day after we noticed what we think is aiptasia on a couple of pieces of live rock. We were advised to get a peppermint shrimp and as we wanted to get a shrimp anyway we did. We've been advised that he is the right peppermint shrimp that eats the aiptasia but so far he hasn't touched it :mad2:

This evening i noticed this white fur like stuff on the zoa and several aiptaisia near too it.

Here's a pic, does anyone know what it is? The zoa will still only open a small section too :(

Also while i'm here can anyone please tell me what this coral is called? It was given to us by a fellow reefer. When we got it, it looked like a brown piece of sponge but over the last few days this has happened!!

Sorry, i am absolutely rubbish at taking pictures :sad2:

The fungus picture looks just like it. Is there anything i can do?

u might want to amputate and frag some of the surviving polyps and scrape off the dieing ones

then do a dip either furan-2 or?

furan-2 worked for me but I treated it outside the tank you may want to ask about vitimin c dosing which u might be able to do inside the tank

here's the treatment for outside the tank

also do a search for other dips that might be a little cheaper

I have this same stuff growing on different things. I thought it was a type of sponge. I have picked it off some of my frags and it does not come back. However it is difficult to get it all from some places.

I am not sure about a treatment.
