I visited a local home aquarium owner with a neglected 220g tank. The amount of work went into the tank is amazing, before the owner lost interest in the hobby. Here are some facts, as been accounted by the owner.

No water changes in 2 years. No bulb (Halides) changes in 2 years. Automation done via the Neptune aqua controller. Ca reactor stopped a few months ago. Reeflo snapper runs the tank.

Fishes looked healthy (yellow tang, hippo tang, 2 clown).

Spongenode looked bleached but with good polyp extension. Pink digit looked fine. Other corals includes mushrooms, hammer are shaded and not completely extended.

No water test done, yet.

The white algae has a hairy and cotton like look. It has covered the entire tank and even killing off the macro algae in the tank.

Now the question of the day. What kind of algae is that and is it invasive?

It's not in my tank. :) I'm Just trying figure out how invasive it really is and to see if corals from this tank needs to be dipped in something special.
