White mold on branching hammer.

Have nothing but issues with this hammer from the get go. It was stung by a bubble coral at the lfs I purchased from. After a few days in my tank one of the larger heads began to recede and had its mouth gaping open. That head eventually died but the rest seemed ok. Now, the head that was stung has some black/white mold looking stuff on a portion of the head and is not opening in that area as well as one of the larger healthy seeming heads also have some white mucus looking tissue near its mouth(s). If anyone could give me any help it would be great. I have performed one dip in lugols and about to do another.

Well the head that was stung is now doing the same thing, flesh is very droopy with the mouth exposed and opened. Any help!?

i had a white mold on my rocks and found out it was sponges that were starting to take over my tank check and see if you have any hiding anywhere, you could dip it as well.

Kh - 12.8

Using Red Sea pro salt
Tank is about six weeks* old

Moved it a few times, got told it had too much flow so turned off mp10. Now added a little more flow because I got told I had to little flow...

Thanks but it isn't sponges, it's a white mucous. Looks like the dead tissue from the first head I lost but it's coming out of the mouths.

It would be a first for me to hear about sponges ever taking over a reef tank.
