White or Gold Marooon? Differences? Which is better?

I'm going to set up a tank specifically for a pair of maroons, but can't decide if I want the white or gold stripe.

Any opinions from those of you who have had maroons? Thanks!

Both can get very territorial/aggressive.

What else do you have in your tank?

I've only had mine for a week, but he's been great so far

there isn't much difference between them other than one has gold stripes and the other white. Gold stripe maroons start their lives with white stripes and gain their gold stripes with age. Personally I think the gold stripes are much more appealing and attractive. I love staring at beautiful shade of gold on the maroon color. Here is mine

it's largely just a matter of aesthetics.

i've seen statements that one was more aggressive than the other, but i've seen statements to the contrary, too. i've had pairs of both, and noticed differences in the behaviors of individual fish, but nothing i could say was specific to one color morph or another.

This tank will only have two maroon clowns and a BTA in it. Nothing more.

I had a maroon in college that was gorgeous. Not sure which kind it was. I'm really interested in finding a pair that one is "normal" looking and the other is misbarred or has an extra dot.

Just don't know whether to go with white or gold. Are the stripes thicker on one or the other?

BTW, I actually saw some pretty ones at Petco today. Almost bought them, but was curious... How long does it take for them to mature and pair off? I don't mind a year, but I really don't want to wait much longer than that for little clown babies.

stripe size is about the same, but at least w/ the clutches i've raised, misbar/dotting is more common with white stripes.

depending on the size/age of the female when you get her, the process between pairing->breeding could be less than a year, or upwards of 3 to 4 years. in general....they're gonna get busy when they want to get busy.

Yeah my female (pictured above) is over 3 years old and she's been paired with a male for over a year and nothing yet. I guess they're waiting to have a bigger income
