White particles in water column

I seem to have a problem with white particles floating around in the water column. Adding a filter sock and some filter floss helps to some degree but I know many reefers run tanks without these and don't have this problem. Anyone know the source? Are they microbubbles from the skimmer or something else? Any tricks on getting rid of it?

If they're not micro bubbles then my guess would be either sand particles or perhaps precipitate. Do you have anything that digs or burrows in your tank? Are you dosing anything?

I have a Melanurus which burrows at night but no sand sifting critters or fish. I don't dose anything at the moment. So sounds like it's likely microbubbles? Am I running my skimmer wrong?

If it looks like white haze, it could be microbubbles. Calm down your skimmer, maybe.

How long have you had your skimmer? If it's fairly new sometimes it takes awhile for these things to break in so to say. Micro bubbles can be a byproduct of this.

I can only adjust the air intake and lowering that lowers the bubble column below the neck. It' been running for about 4 months now so I don't think it's still breaking in. Could the water level of the skimmer chamber effect this?
