White particles when mixing my reef crystals

I have a small 30g tank. When I mix up my salt, I've starting getting these white round particles in my water. They float at the top.

Went through an entire bucket of IO without this happening and I don't remember this happening when I first started with RC. But I've been getting this for a few months now.

Looks like calcium precip. How are you mixing it? Are you pouring 5 gallons of water in the bucket then pouring 5 scoops of salt? If so, that might be the problem. Try mixing it one gallon at a time.

I've used Reef Crystals for 4 years and never had this problem when I mix it in a 20 gallon trash barrel with a powerhead. I add it 1-2 gallons at a time, add salt, let it mix for an hour or two then repeat until I have the 15 gallons I need for ther weekly water changes. Adding a couple gallons to the mixing bin only takes a couple minutes so it's just a part of my daily routine.
