Do i have some type of bug eating my sps? They look to be rounds circles throught the frag but i see no bugs. All my other frags look fine.

It bleached a few months back and it's starting to slowly color up but the spots do not go away. It also hasn't grown at all in that time.

Kind of hard to see in that picture but your description kind of sounds like AEFW. They are very very hard to see. I would dip it in CoralRx or Revive and blow it off with a turkey baster and see if anything comes off.

^^^ agreed, its pretty hard to tell but white circles + bleaching + no growth are signs of aefw.

Doew AEFW affect only certain types of corals? Whats the best way to treat the whole tank if possible?

AEFW' for sure. Get those frags dipped asap. I lost 25+ SPS frags and colonies 6 months ago. The white marks ar identicle to what I had.

Well, my oppinion is, its definitely a pest of some sort. Don't just jump to AEFW though, becuase some of the predatory copepods also leave small, round, white bite marks. Do you visual inspection with at least a 5x or 10x lens, do your dip in a white container and then, based upon what you find (what you see) treat accordingly.

Presume your whole system is now contaminated if you did not QT everything in your tank.
I am unaware of any whole tank treatment for AEFW.

That is CLASSIC AEWF for sure. I can even see eggs at the base of the frag in the second photo...HAVE A CLOSE look. AEFW's lay the eggs on or near newly receded coral skeleton.

I just didnt believe that I had AEFW's and lost all my acros. Please do yourself a favour and get that frag out of the tank into a small white dish or use a glass dish with a piece of white paper underneath and then blast the coral frag with a baster. #

I will be surprised if this is not AEFW's. Once you experiance AEFW's you will always know the tell tale signs. Those who have never experianced it wont see the signs.

FWIW, it isnt the end of all...some poeple actually live with AEFW's in thier tank...they blast the corals with a baster every few days and this keep them controlled. There is one or two fish species which eat them as well.

But do take action, dont delay.

What dip would you guys recommend?

Just in the last few hours i've read to use Coral X, Revive, Lugol's, TMPCC and many others.

Does one work better then others. I have some Brightwell Aquarist Coral Dip. Will it help?

Bad part is i've had these frags for over six months and just noticed the white spots on this one frag. I guess now i know why some frags grew fast while others did not.

Thanks for the help guys!
