White spots on zoos, need help

Upon inspecting my tank this morning I noticed white spots on a colony of green zoos when they were closed. I do not have a camera that is capable of photographing them so I will describe them


Each polyp when closed has 6-7 white spots on them. They dont appear to be raised or perfectly round. \\


Does anyone have any pics or ideas?

Yup. Sounds like the pox. I'm not up on the current works and don't works, but the two times I've had them (once a year or so ago and right now), it seemed to hinge on water quality and temperature. In both cases, it was warm outside and the tanks were getting warm. In both cases, lowering the temp and doing more water changes got rid of them over the course of a few weeks. I lost some zoas, but no whole colonies. This has worked for me, but I know many people who have tried everything and still have them. I get to at least smell good luck every once in a while (between beatings...).

How many dips does it usually take before the problem (fungus) is resolved?

I diped once yesterday and today Id say about 70% of the polyps that were closed yesterday are open today.

I had to pull my entire rock system down to get to this colony, I dont want to set it up until im sure there gone.
