white string hanging from clown

I have two clownfish, and one of them seems to poop out a long white string. It is on the bottom of the fish. The fish is eating fine and has great personality. Treatments?

the fin in the very back of the fish looks like it is deteriorating slightly. This may just be the normal look of the fish, but it does look like a very tiny piece is missing. Other clown looks fine. QT will be set up tomorrow. Please give some recs for meds.

Start feeding an anti parasite food. Usually white stringy feces is a sign of an internal parasite...

mine have the same thing. QT with prazipro will work. What kind of food is their with anti parasite medicine on it?

Bump. I would like to know as well. I kjnow the lfs sells some food that is anti-parisitic because I called and asked today. Do most lfs have prazipro?

Seachem makes a medicine called Focus. It is an antibacterial polymer that can be mixed with other medicines or used on its own in food preparations. I have used it by mixing some with metronidazole and then mixing that with food like pellets or mysis shrimp. The focus itself is made of nitrofurantoin. I have had good results with Focus and while especially mixing it with metronidazole. The trouble comes in combining the right amounts so that the fish will actually eat it. Too much of it and the fish don't usually like it. I have had better results with just treating the water itself with metronidazole in a hospital tank. I use just metro alone, but it can also be used with praziquantel for added treatments. For both metro and prazi I'd suggest using API's general cure.
