White string of poop on clown

Did not see any slime or mucous, he was just breathing hard and no discoloration. Would a temp spike to around 82 harm him? I realized after i found him i set the temp on the heater incorrectly to 82. When i first put him in that temp was about 78. Could the medication also caused this possibly? Some people reviewing this product online reported their fish dying day after using it.

Well IME; most medications do deplete O2 and require additional gas exchange. And there is less available O2 at higher temps. And you did say he was breathing heavy. Sorry... I should have suggested pointing a powerhead towards the surface to increase gas exchange.

The only power head i have is a wp25 and that was too much for a 10g, water was splashing out of the tank and the clown could not even keep up swimming even at the lowest setting so i took it out and just used an air stone

I suggest picking up a small Maxijet or nano PH for whenever you need to use medications. Point it so it creates a ripple at the surface of the water. I also recommend only medicating between 76-78F.

Are you sure you didn't have an ammonia spike? How long has your tank been running? Ammonia + elevated temps = bad. Appetite loss and hard breathing are often a sign of ammonia. Stringy poop can happen in clowns if they are fed mysis
