White sun coral

I can't tell fully from the shot but the picture is showing a soft body and its attaching to the rock not with a calcium carbonate skeleton. It looks like a majano anemone or something in the corynactis/pseudocorynactis genus.

If it doesn't have a hard skeleton underneath (observe it when it fully retracts) - then its probably not a dendrophyllia/tubastraea coral.

The white part is hard skeleton. The coral is recovering and so it was showing mostly skeleton. Now there's some flesh growing from the top and spreading down which is a pale orangish/whitish colour. I'll post another pic after there's more growth

I got the clear ones off of tampa bay saltwater live rock, the others are my black sun and fathead dendro.

Those fathead dendros look gorgeous. It's a real bonus to get uncommon suns on live rock.

Thanks. I cheated though my lfs got a order of thier rock in and I bought the one rock when I saw them on thier. I did it again recently but those ones are staying small and brown.

Those clear ones are nice, how long have you had them and have they reproduced?

A few years now. I gave some to one or two people in my club. My tank was down for the past year and I just got them back from a friend who was holding all my nps. All the sps lps etc I had sold off. They grow same as dendros do but seem to need more food than them.
