I am not going to medicate unless it is needed. The fish is doing great as it is currently and I will continue to fatten it up. I will probably have the fish in hypo but not until the fish stops being so skittish.

I've been wanting a white tail bristletooth tang for a LONG time, but $180 each is pricey. Too bad L.A. couldn't ever get some in as they price the same size at $45. Been on their "email me" list since November 2012 and have never gotten an email from them.
I am holding off on buying any of the tangs that I want until I can either get one of these, or I give up on it and do something else. Want to make sure that I have the best chance of success by getting them at the same time (and of course getting appropriate sized and calmest species).

I've never seen one come up for sale on liveaquaria. There was one that was about 2-3" that came up on divers den about 3 or 4 months ago and it sold for $179.99 within 30 seconds.

aandf, what type of clowns are those in your avi? I've always loved that pair and will be starting a new 150 gal mixed reef soon.
well just to update mine is still doing great, he's eating like a pig and ate some nori today as soon as i put it in.
He's still in QT but i think i'm going to pull the plug on the QT and just transfer him to the DT. He's been in since saturday and i'm getting ammonia every time i take a reading, i ran prime the first 3 days. Did a 50% WC tuesday morning and still had ammonia tuesday night but left it thru the night, this morning still had it so did another 50% WC and am still reading ammonia. I know prime will give phantom ammonia readings but i figure with 100% WC in 2 days it shouldn't be as bad as it is. I don't actually thing there is ammonia as he is acting just fine and very active and eating. But don't want to risk it. On the WC i did this morning my heater in my storage was to warm so shot the temp in the QT from 77 to 82 doing the WC and he's still trucking along like a champ, didn't even faze him and no ich outbreak or anything. I'll try to snap some good pics of him in the next day or 2

That fish looks kinda skinny... I hope it beefs up for you!

They are picasso clowns that I'm in love with. Searched high and low daily for four months on multiple websites looking for the perfect pair.
I was hoping you or someone would see the pictures. Yeah he does seem a bit on the skinny side. I fed a good amount yesterday and he was eating with gusto. I am thinking of starting prazi pro maybe this weekend to give him a few more days to get some good healthy PE mysis, cyclopeeze, and formula one in his belly just to be on the safe side.

i've been trying to feed nori in the morning, pellets mid day, and frozen at night. Sometimes my schedule allows for it and sometimes it doesn't. I'm afraid to leave the nori in there for too long or put too much in there. It looks better than when I first got it though. It was pretty shy hiding a lot and fairly skiddish. Now the fish is out and about so that's a good sign plus it's eating well and I soak the food in selcon too. :reading:

Yup, it looks like they completely removed it from their product list and deleted everyone's email alerts. So this will now always be a $180+ fish it seems.
i've had 3 different LFS's pull every string they could and none of them could get them for 6 months+. The only time 1 even popped up and the LFS said they wanted it and ordered it they didn't receive it and when questioned the supplier said it had died. (LFS thinks they just sold it to a higher bidder)
When the ones on NY Aquatics popped up i called a buddy who runs LFS and told him about it, he said give him till noon the next day. He called multiple suppliers and they all said if you can get it for 200 now then do it, one supplier had only seen 1 in the last year and sold it for 200, another said they were selling them for 30 but they hadn't seen one in over a year.
Honestly if its a fish you want then don't wait, just get it. The prices are going to skyrocket and when their 250+ soon cause suppliers are going to start selling them for 200 then you'll regret the 180

So i pulled the plug on the QT, the fish seemed way healthy and happy, no signs of anything at all even after the daily water changes and the temp changes from the WC he still didn't flinch and was still getting phantom ammonia so i said screw it and put him in the DT, he's very active and seems happy swimming around.. snapped a couple quick phone pics.

Mine is still doing good although he's become a picky eater.. He spits out mysis and brine, he also spits out pellets. Like nori sheets and algae wafers he goes crazy for! Acts like a hungry pig and eating time but turns his nose up very quick to anything other than the algae wafers that he goes crazy for.
