who doses amino acids?

i occasionally dose amino acid from probio. i do notice good polyp extention shortly after i use, i also notice an increase in a few other things as well. alge growth as well as an increase in amphipods. the alge growth burst is brief. i havent noticed any additionaly growth in coraline .

a little more PE and yes definitely more algae growth along with coralline, which is also algae, no?

more nuisance algae or just corraline? ive been battling cyano and bubble algae for a while, but also slow coral growth, what would you do? start to add or no?

Ive been dosing AAHC for a while.... Never noticed any increase in algae of any kind. I have also not seen a major increase in growth or color either.

I've dosed a couple varieties of amino's. [salifert, zeo]

When I didn't feed my fish much/often, IMO it was a handy way to provide some sort of nutrient to the tank, when it seemed hungry. [pale zoox coloration, pale non-zoox coloration]

But I've not stuck to any product I've tried yet, just wasn't convinced after adding, discontinuing after a number of months, then adding again that it had enough influence to spend money a second time on it.
Then again, I use a lot of stuff in my DIY fish food, perhaps it has `enough' already.

In this hobby?

You'll get three people saying one thing, two saying the opposite, and one saying something else altogether.

And they could all be right, at least to a degree :)

I've heard it just illicit's a feeding response. It's like smelling the cookies, but not being able to eat them.

I don't know, but I'd rather feed actual food.

well i do feed liquid life, 6 pumps coral and 3 pumps bio every 3 days, aside from feeding fish , which i also mix in cyclopeeze.........

I use Salifert amino acids but truly can not say whether it works or not. But for me I think it helps the coral to color up but that just my opinion.
