Hey it was us, Rick and Amelia. The silicone seam gave out and dumped all the water which made its way to the finished basement. 100 gallon display, 20 gallon refugium and an auto top-off that kept running until someone came to feed the fish... we had it set up exactly how we wanted... coral was doing great, beautiful fish, etc. and lost it all. it was pretty bad. ruined the wood floors and the basement and insurance wouldn't pay for the tank, stand, or contents... we are starting to rebuild now.
Insurance did cover the property damage so we used that to buy a new 150G tall (48x30x24) and a new skimmer. It's been up and running about 3 months now.
I was hoping you guys would win something in the auction last night.
I don't know how far away you live, but I can hook you up with some ultra green flower anemones and maybe a posilpora (spelling?) colony with xenia and daisy polyps on it. I can send pics if you want to see what I'm talking about.
Thanks a ton for the offer but I still havent set up my lighting yet. I am fish only at the moment with about 100 watts over a 150 gallon and was planning to get the metal halides setup in time for the frag swap.
If you can hold on to them till then and if your going to the swap we could meet up there that would be awesome.
i have a few little goodies you two can have also , some pom pom , a chunck of green sin , kenya tree , when your ready , i live in Elyria ,,if you want them when your ready you can have some stuff to get up and running again ,,,,,,
Wow....so we weren't the only ones who had a major tank crash on New Years. Bummer. Yours was definitely worse than ours. Many wishes for a more prosperous 2008 with the new tank setup. That 150g tall sounds very interesting.
