Who hand feeds?

I have heard that hand feeding makes your mantis more interactive and gives it more personality. So who hand feeds and did you notice an increase in interactivity/behavior when you started hand feeding?

I got this sweet bridge im selling here in NYC, ill give it to ya at cost!!

Actually there is a video if a kid handfeeding a peacock mantis on youtube. IMO its a stupid thing to do.

I feed mine with a skewwer as do most sane owners.

I have limited experiance with them in aquariums. We do however use em for bait , most people have no idea they are even here. The Old timers call em Thumb Spliters and 22Shrimp for a good reason.

I hand feed my Peacock, but she is extremely mellow for a mantis. I have never seen her strike at anything but snails and hermits. I use a skewer to feed my G. Chiragra and my N. Oerstedii.

My peacock is mellow also. But there is no in he!! that I am going to trust him not to strike at me if I tried hand feeding.

Risky! Stomatoods often come to associate the feeding skewer with food and begin to attack it. The same can happen with fingers. Given the risk, it is not worth it. Remember the South African surgeon who had to have part of his hand amputated - or look at the photo that I posted of stab wounds I suffered.

I used to hand feed my O.S. she is gone now. I didn't notice any change in behavior or personality when i was hand feeding though. she was just as happy to see a piece of shrimp on a skewer as she was out of my hand.

Ok. I will DEFINITELY use a feeding skewer
Thanks Dr. Caldwell btw I am thinking about going to U C Berkeley but havent visited it yet.
