Who has a short pump?

First off, I'm not talking about you steve

I bought that JBJ ATO and all I have is a 5 gallon bucket for my top off. However, it has a sensor in the sump and one in the reserve to kick off if it gets too low so it doesn't burn out. However, currently it's using a powerhead but the unit doesn't seem to be recognizing it? I need to go back and read but regardless, the power head is just for the time being. I would prefer a shorter pump as it will allow me a bit more room in a small reserve. Or, if anyone has one for sale/trade or knows where I can get a very inexpensive one, please let me know.

Thanks,
Justin

Ha well then you deserve it !

What is a Nassarius ?

Yeah, and I could only find 4 of the 5 small ones. What kind of scam are you running? I'm probably just another in your giant scheme of taking over the world!

You gotta understand. You're really the only person I know on here besides Chad and if I gave him a hard time like that, he'd probably jack my coral prices up 4x... I just figured I wasn't in the market for any spiders anytime soon so I was in the clear.

a shorter pump (what pump are you using)

Right now, I am using a powerhead but the controller doesn't seem to recognize it, plus it sits very high. Due to my limited water reserve, I figured the shorter the better, as it would give me more room before I had to set that sensor. I would imagine, the pump wouldn't have to be that large since it's only pushing water 18" to the sump.

what are you using for the power head to sit in

mine is a 5 gallon bucket

never used the Auto top off you have but have read some mixed reviews on it

(i could have saved you some cash on a ATO making one tommorrow to replace the one i have now)

mayne the 2nd switch isnt letting the pump work because it is breaking the power to it

Well, everyone has helped me out so much I didn't want to ask anyone for additional help. I got it for $75 kindof hard to beat.
I have it in a 5 gallon bucket as well. It just seems like the powerhead sits higher than what I think a pump would.

make it sit on the bottom of the 5 gallon and depending on evaporation could be 2-5 days till empty

i use 1/2 inch in diameter hose on mine minijet 606

However, I could use help with my sump.I'll explain. I hope this makes sense. I have a 20gallon tank for a sump. The mag-7 (return) sits on bottom and I have a coralife superskimmer 125 and the pump also site on the bottom. If the water is too deep, the skimmer doesn't produce bubbles well. So, I have to keep it low. So, basically, I can only have the water about 4, maybe 5 inches from the bottom??? So, with not very much evaporation, you start running the risk of going below the pump. Any suggestions? I know chadfarmer is the king of this from what I've heard...

make a different chamber to put the skimmer in and the main pump (maybe put a 90 on the main pump down will give less but will give less flow and run in less water so that you put the sensor in the compartment with the main pump (regulate that compartment ---

and make the water in the skimmer section so that it doesnt change even with the power out(setup like a refugium)

ummm... I'm still a newbie... How can I do that with only using that 20gallon tank as a sump? I have zero room for anything more

I will not be able to be at the meeting. We had to postpone a birthday party because my kids were sick so we are getting together tomm. for dinner, etc... I'm sorry because I really want to be at all the meetings.

Would an emailed picture help?
