Justin.....on that SS125 shorten the rubber tubing that connect the pump to the skimmer intake tube. My tube is only 1.5 inches long.......just enough to connect the 2. That way the pump is up high in refrence to the skimmer.
It would not be relative if you elevate the skimmer in the sump too get the pump higher. Your distance from pump to intake will remain the same. Leave the skimmer on bottom and shorten the tube - hense raising the pump in relation to the intake.
And if im not understnding what your talking about then just ignore me as its been a long day and its late!
Basically you just need to raise your skimmer, or at least the pump to the skimmer in your sump. In the past I created a small stand out of acrylic and set the skimmer on it. You could use anything plastic that won't corrode in water. It helps if you have a bit of sand in the bottom of your sump to stabalize the stand as well.
