Hello all photographers,

Well I am about to start my new business which is importing live rock and corals to Ireland for the wholesale and direct trade.
Firstly I'll be shipping in 1 tonne of LR a month then moving to corals once that is established - who knows - fish might also get in there.

Anyway.. I am desigining my website and need some royalty free pics to add to it.

I wanted to see if anyone is willing to allow me to use pics from your tanks that are royalty free to use on the site.

My designer will in the end pick out the ones he wants to use from the pool of images I am hoping to obtain.

I will give credit to all photos to the photographer / owner of the tank if you want.

hope you can help. from past experience on RC - everyone in this hobby is happy to help.

Oh. If I use you photos and you ever come over to southern Ireland - I'll by the Guiness. :D

I know you're just starting out and don't have a client base yet but using photographs of tanks that have no relation to you is a little sketchy. Customers do not want photos of tanks that are 1000s of miles away and products and corals that you do not carry. Save yourself the trouble and take photos of local tanks and your products. As a businessman and photographer myself I know that is what the customer wants. Generic stock photos have little place in the reefing world.

Good Luck

Well As I am anly starting with live rock the site is going to look quite drab with pic of LR.

I am just after a fish or two or a full tank shot maybe some corals.

In Ireland the hobby and industry is very minute compared to the USA os it is not as easy to do what you say. For instance. In a 100 mile radius I know of 2 tanks.

I guess as this is your job you are not willing to share your IP. If anyone else would liekt o share please let me know.

When I get a good camera I would be willing to let you have some shots. I think that what you are doing is a little sneaky, but what the hell its just a picture of fish...right.

I dont mind letting you use some of my pics as long as you shoot me a link to where they are so I can show my wife! LOL!

Also dont alter them in any way.

I dont mind you using them since your just selling liverock and not corals.

Here are a few...

Hey guys this is great. yes keep sending in the pics.

The site construction has not started yet. Still waiting for the company to be registerd which should be done by the end of this week then we can start the site - Want to start and get it done quick with out hold ups or last minute changes.

Thanks again and I will mention everyone who's pictures I use. Also a link to the sites.

if there are only 2 tanks in 100miles of you, surely it's not a great plan to import 1 tonne of LR per month!

Wonder if you might consider importing some US equipment though, and then modding it for the UK market. Also there's demand for colourful zoos, rics, blastos, sps, macro algeas..... I wouldn't feature images of such things on your site until you can supply them though - you'll look fake.

I am southern Ireland - Everything is up in Dublin - the capital city. There they would sell around 1 ton per month at the stores.

At the stores I plan on suppling - they inturn get it air shipped from the UK which drives up the cost to the end punter...
