I think most are fairly comparable price wise. Read a bunch of reviews, go to the vendor forum and take a look.
Personally, I prefer to actually lay my eyes on whatever livestock I want to get. Any reputable LFS will order you in special requests - especially once you get to know them. For Corals I prefer to do my shopping at swap meets so I can better judge pricing. One vendor will have something really nice for $$$, and a few booths down, another will have the same thing with a different name for 1/2 the other guys asking price. At the last swap I was at, one place had small but very colorful rock flower anemones for $40-$60. About 5 booths away, I found very similar ones for your pick $10. Guess who I picked???
