The family and I are heading to Disney next week. I want to go to the best fish and coral store in Orlando. If possible, please give me the "cadillac" of all the stores...as I will not have enough time to see all of them.

THANKS!!!

I'm in orlando and have never been to sea in the city.. but you're the 2nd person to recommend them today that I've read of.. guess I'll have to go up there one day when I have money.. lol

You can also try Ocean Blue off of Aloma Ave. He usually has quite of an assortment of SPS and LPS, as well as a few tanks with Soft corals in them. He is a little pricy though...

I have been going to Ocean Blue for years... actually that store is the reason I got into reef keeping to begin with. That was back in 2000 though, when his store was on University.

I was in Ocean Blue recently and the store is looking great, all the coral looked really nice. It seemed to me like they were in a slump for a while back in 04 or so?! but they're stuff looks better than ever now.

They are also going to be opening up a new store in Waterford in the upcoming months. It's going to be an upscale store, selling all geisman lighting and high end tanks...

They, as in Ocean Blue?

Wow I would love to have a store around here with really nice tanks to choose from... online shipping is too much for large tanks..

Yes sorry about that, I meant Ocean Blue will be opening up the shop.

If you turn into the Home Depot shopping center, they will be located to the right of Chipotle, actually in the stores just west of Chipotle. They have a coming soon sign in the window, I believe it will be called aquaria studio or something like that. Vin said he wants to have an upscale name to go with his upscale store... I thought that was pretty funny!

I can't wait to see it up and running. He said he's going to setup a 90 and a 120 as the show tanks. They are going to be the new Oceanic's that he has in his current store. ( I love those tanks, but they are a little pricey, more than double the price of a standard AGA).

If you want true quality and an owner\employees who know what they are talking about and are willing to sit down and chat (and maybe even bargain a good deal or two) check out SITC.

They are a bit small now but are opening up a larger store in a few weeks. Really amazing stuff, worth the trip despite the small sotre.

I'm over in East Orlando too so it'll be interesting to see an aquarium place in Waterford yay! A closer drive to browse will be awesome :) I can just see a bunch of stupid college kids knowing nothing aboutt he hobby going to buy "nemos" or something stupid like that though :(:( hope the guys who work there will be able to educate the potential customers

Ahhh, nice. Well Vin has always been helpful, mildly pricey, but I prefer buying my fish from him.

What oceanic tanks are you talking about?

They are called Tek tanks. They are eurobraced, pre-cutout holes in the brace for powerheads, black silicone, and not to mention sweet:)

You have to go by and check them out, he's the only one in town that carries them, at least the places I checked... They are a bit pricey though.

For a 90 it's around $800-850, and for a 120 it's aroun $900-1000.

That's just the tank, and no stand/canopy?

Thanks for the info by the way, I'm going to have to check it out..

Yes, that price is just for the tank, the stands are another 5-600.00!
I just came home from Ocean Blue and OMG those oceanics are amazing, easily the best looking tank and stand I've ever seen, and the single larger overflow in the center rear is beautiful, 4 drains.. really sweet tank. The largest they come in is 120gal apparently 4x2x2 but who cares it's beautiful.

The catch is there isn't a matching canopy, so it leaves me to need to buy new lighting.. but I suppose that's a nice excuse "but I have to".

Anyways what is this series of oceanic's named? I've looked on their website and don't see it..

nevermind.. tek tanks..

Unfortunately I can't find anything online about them... are there any other places to buy them from?
