I have a project that I am currently working on and need help from everyone.

Who has the oldest "active continuous running Reef System" in the Mid-South?

I know of Several that are several years old but I am looking first for any "continuous running active reefs" that are older than 3 years old, located here in the Mid-South.

Lets see what we can come up with and anyone that you can put me in touch with any active reefs oder than 3 years.

Is yours one? If so let me know by PM, it would be appreciated.

I know some people in the group have had tanks going for a long time if you count upgrades .... moving an existing reef into a larger tank. Does that count as an "active continuous running reef"?

Otherwise, same tank, no upgrade I'm up since 4th of July weekend in 2003 .... just over 5 years. I think there are others here who have been up longer.

That is what I am refering too.

Yours is the longest one that has been continuous without the tank being upgraded that I have been made aware of so far.

Anyone had one going for longer than that??

I am also interested in any others that have been going for 3 or more years??

Aha! and there is one of the people I was thinking of.

Glad to hear the Bermel 90 is still going. I still remember the great meeting we had at your house. I fell in love with the little Puffer fish in the tank at the top of the stairs.

Anyone out there know some older???

does not have to be active on RC club member etc.. just want to docuiment anything in this area older than 3 years>

I'm not sure, but I believe the display tank at Something Fishy is probably older than that. I find it somewhat hard to believe that none of the tanks in the Rendos household wouldn't be older than that also, but maybe not continuous.

The Something Fishy tank crashed and died a few months back.

I started my 65 gallon with VHO bulbs back in summer 1997, but I transferred it to a 125 gallon with MH and compact fluorescent actinics earlier this year. I still have a pagoda cup coral and a devil's hand (that has been fragged repeatedly) going strong from that time. Back then I mainly had soft coral and LPS. I didn't get involved with WTMRAC until branching out into SPS (pun intended) in 2004. Prior to that, I had a 55 gallon marine fish/invert tank for 3 years in the late 70's/early 80's (before there was such a thing as live rock!) and put it up again for 2 years in 1993.

Ok now that the Holidays are past. Does anyone out there know of any additonal tanks in this area that have been up and running for more than 3 years??

If so please let me know!
