who is happiest with their light????

I have LEDs on both of my solanas. My 25 gallon is running a 12" acan 104 and my 34 is running a AI SOL Blue. I love them both. The AI has more bells and whistles but the acan is real clean looking. I mainly went LED although I still love halides. I didnt want to have to deal with any heat issues in a smaller tank. I have to say it takes a while to get used to the way LED lights a tank but I absolutely LOVE my LEDs.

Well --- I lucked out with this --
Bought one used, problems, & more problems with the older Chineese model.
Damaged by UPS upon return, Filed claim got the newest model.

I might suggest the Vertex Illumilux LED modules. Very clean unit with only 1 power cable out, and super bright! I just installed 2 in my BC29, and wow does it ever shimmer!!!

DIY LED here, and I would never look back.
I've also seen some of the MaxSpect units and was very impressed with them.

I went with the AI Sol Blue + controller on my 20x20 cube. This is only my second set up (first was a stock Biocube) so i don't have much to compare it to.

I AM THE HAPPIEST i dont know what my light is but i am soo happy about it i am positive i am THE HAPPIEST if there is a way to measure this "happy" i am more than willing to undergo the test

The reason I'm so happy is that I have the JBJ nano cube 28 HQI but I changed the lighting by removing the stock hood and mounting a Kessil A150W sky blue LED light over it.
I believe the dimensions are pretty similar to your 18x18 cube. The light offers good coverage and looks nice. As marillion said it has nice halide-like shimmer and just looks nice. Maybe doesn't have quite the brightness to the naked eye as the stock 150W HQI but looks good and no heat issues.
It's a sweet little light for your cube if you don't get off on all the controllability and bells and whistles of some of the other options. If you're fine with a simple light to keep your livestock happy and light up your tank it's a great option.
