A while ago I bought a "Joey N’s Blue and Purple Pectinatus" and it has become my favorite coral. Now I purchased a "Joey N's Green Selago". I also noticed 2 other Joey N's corals for sale. These are all found in the Divers Den area. Who is Joey N?

LCD,

Thank you for contacting us with your question on these great corals. These corals are grown by SPStoner who chose their name.

That is pretty cool that you get some items from private growers. Thanks again LiveAquaria and thanks SPStoner if you happen to read this.

I sent you a PM b4 I saw u replied here. Check it out if you get a chance.

Got it:) I will post pictures of the mother colonies of those corals here if that is ok.

Hey LCD. Sorry this took so long.

These pics are not the best, but I am a horrible photographer.

(maybe I should stop spending so much on coral and take a class or two.... )

Pectinatus- hard for me to capture the color. It is a blue coral under 20K and actinic lighting, but you get the idea.

Selago- another really nice one Pastel colors and great polyp extension.

Thanks SPStoner I just noticed these colony pics. Ya the Pectinatus coloring is a little hard to make out but mine is close although the corallites have green tips which make it really nice. Yours is probably the same just can’t tell by the pic. (Not trying to knock your camera skills or anything :) ) And my selago is too early to tell but it seems to be going pale green atm. thanks again and I hope to see more from Joey N!

No worries, my camera skills are really BAD!! I'd like to blame the camera but......it's me.

The Pectinatus does have the green around the end opf the corallites, which is pretty cool. The Selago is a lighter green but gets blue tint to it. I have the mother colony really close to the surface directly under a 400w Radium. I traded the frags with Liveaquaria a while ago, so I'm not sure what kind of lighting they kept it under and what the color has done since.

Keep me posted on how they do for you, and thanks.

Tony
