who is the bully of your tank?

My Purple Tang def is at the top of the hierarchy. When it's feeding time she sometimes tries to chase the other fish away. She's not very successful though, I just feed at both sides of the tank, and since she can't be at both sides at once everyone gets plenty to eat.

If there's no food there's no chasing, so I don't really think of her as a "bully". PTs have that rep tho.

my 3 inch Whitetail trigger...by far the most aggressive fish I have ever owned...got as a tiny 1 inch baby...by 1.5 he was chasing a 5 inch Pinktail, 3.5 inch Huma, and a 2.5 Clown trig...just a brutal little fish...he is in the fuge all by himself...this happened in a 250...he is now in the fuge of my big tank...

Strawberry dottyback. Mean little guy, picks on all the new fish then will 'try' to eat some smaller snails. Carries them around in his mouth...

My little Clownfish is the bully.

I had issues with my Ocellaris Clownfish. Once they became a mated pair they became very territorial and harassed any fish that came near them. I'm building a new tank now and considering skipping clownfish this time around.

My powder blue tang always asserts his dominance when a new fish is added, but after one day, he's back to pretty much ignoring everybody. I've been surprised by my Bartlett's Anthius being more of a bully, more of the time -but only with fish that are a lot smaller than she!

It used to be the 10-yr old 6-line. After his RIP a few weeks ago, Sailfin tang, Purple tang, Flame angel and Dottyback are now having meetings to decide who should be the boss. The mystery wrasse tried to join the meeting but got kicked out. :uzi:

Sorry to hear about your loss. But my bet is that the PT will take the top spot.

No. So far from the meetings go, Sailfin will win with his massive frame. PT is kind of sit-back guy, enjoying all the fuss happening around -- cool dude.
By the way, Mystery got kicked out of the meeting because he is a new kid in the block. I bet after he got comfortable, he would rise up in the rank.

The bully from my tank is my 5" emperor juvie(changing). He will occasionally chase my slightly smaller False Personifer. Probably b/c the FP is my last angelfish that was added.

I just threw my emp in the sump and he will be getting another home. the emp kept on grunting and going after both my true and false personifer trying to bite the back tail. i've had it for over a yr. grew from 3" to 5.5". hes just been a real PITA lately.

Unfortunately I'll be in the same situation as geaux_man; I have a juvi emperor and false personifer, both similar size and the emp aded last. But it's looking like the emp is beginning to assert itself as the dominant fish. No out and out chasing but if the personifer gets close it gets nipped at. Won't be long before the emp gets rehomed...
Yeah, I thought I would get lucky pairing two angels......

Powder Brown. No real aggresion but he likes to chase the other fish in my tank (even larger ones lol)to show he's the boss.

With three angels and two tangs I have a few contenders but the nastiest fish I have is my female yellowtail blue damsel, just a real PITA. My second place fish is my female true perc, really bad when she is guarding eggs.
