Who makes the best 250W 10K DE?

I am replacing Coralvue Reeflux bulbs. Would like some input on a replacement.

Are you looking for PAR or overall color. I would say Aqualine 10K for PAR and maybe the BLV 10K for color and decent PAR.

Well, I was really thinking PAR. I also use 3 six foot actinics so I felt that would offset some of the white from the MH's. Where did you get the information on the Aqualine 10K and the BLV 10K? I haven't been able to find anything on 250W DE bulbs? I wondered where my Coralvue Reelfux bulb measures is in terms of par, compared to the others. On the advice of prodman, I did end up ordering 3 Ushio BLV's tonight. We'll see how it goes.

You should be happy with those. They have will have all the par you need imo.

I had read that as well but many said that only applied to the mogul type and there were complaints about the DE's.

I can vouch for that. Of course mine are SE's.

Only if you are talking about SE. when it comes to the DE its the EVC 10k at 147 w/ HQI ballast. But I would say the best in color(white light) would be the BLV's

the giesemann 14.5K is the best '10K' DE bulb i've used. too bad they are so crazy expensive.

As a follow up, I bought the Ushio BLV 10K 250W DE. So far I really like it. I left the reeflux in so I could compare. They are very, very close. I cannot say with any certainty that there is a difference at all.
