We've gotten 2 pairs of Banggais from Inland Aquatics. Both did very well and had babies. Mind you, the male of our current pair keeps EATING the babies. But they do have them.

ONLY buy tank-bred Banggai's.... You will pay more for them but it is worth it.

We went through TWO of them wild caught - both died - we could not get them to eat and threw everything at them.

We talked with John at FAOIS and he had several tank raised. We bought one 2 months ago and we are very happy - this one is eating and thriving...

Good input all,

I dont want to hijack this thread, but the statement above about the Male Card eating the fry is incorrect. All of the species Sphaeramia (Banggai and Spotted Cardinals) are mouth brooders so he is likely protecting them and then releasing them at another time.

Hope you find a good pair, I was not a fan, but my wife wanted a pair and we actually really enjoy them.
