WHOA ... look at this fish!!!!

The Interruptus angel gets brought up by someone every now and then. Don't ever buy one of these from the wild. Their success rates are pretty good, but they usually end up eating corals. However, for half the price you can get a much hardier and much more reef safe tank-bred version from http://www.rcthawaii.com/

No one who has bought one from them has ever had their angel eat coral, at least that's the statement they make and they have the very best reputation. I think they are currently charging $650 for them and they are out until the next brood stock is good to go.

I plan on getting a pair when I set up my next tank. Expensive, more so than all of the other fish I'd put in the tank put together, but very awesome. Check out that sight for more pictures and video.

I'm really not that impressed by them. They look like a cross between a rusty and a potters. I think the potters is a better looking fish, and at $50 a piece.....

just another trendy chic fish.

Pretty, but I wouldn't spend more than $150 or so -- I agree, Potter's are prettier (I wish I could find a healthy one).

I've seen some that look much better than that one. But I will agree that it's not significantly better than a potters. The reason to buy this one is to be able to have something different in your tank; something that few other people have.

hawkfish, to answer your question, it's likely that they would do well in harems similarly to the other pygmy angels (I know you were joking, but someone else may want this information).

That one just has adult colours. Juvie Interruptus is a striking purple morph that is quite incredible:

Centropyge debelius is my favourite rare and expensive pygmy angel.

I'd have to look it up, but I think the females are prettier, having brighter color and more orange/red & also these fish are more striking as a pair due the sexual dichromatism. Also they have appeal because they are among the largest Centropyge (like over 7 in.) yet they don't get huge like some of the "large angels"

I wouldn't kick one out of my tank :D

Here's a juvi from the Hawaiian website posted above.

I agree Angelfish. If RCT ever gets another brood going I was seriously considering it. Ever since I saw pics of Maximus's pair. And I don't agree its just another trendy chic fish.

I think its great someone can captive breed these. Too bad the Debelius all went to Japan. They are pretty striking too.

look up maximus and take a look at his pair and tell me they look like a rusty.

These fish are seriously smackin and if I had the bones I would get one in a heartbeat.
