I thought I would be all high speed and do a water change at night while the fishies were sleeping so that it does not bother the inhabitants. So they would just get up tomorrow and realize, wow the day looks clear - gonna be a good one. ;) So I am draining the water, RC'n, drinking a beer and browsing CL - oh $hit, the water?!

I run to the tank thinking this baby has got to be half drained by now, but I caught it in time and it was right about where I wanted (doing a 1/3 water change). As I am cutting off the siphon and attaching it to the the powerhead that's been mixing the saltwater in the Brute for the last couple of days, I hear this faint little splash. WTH? I grab the little stepstool and peer into the tank to see whats going on. Its dark, so I cannot make out much, but I catch a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye. Then I see this little dark blue face peer up at me from some of the now exposed LR. Apparently, one of the Blue Regals was sleeping in a SPS that was completely out of water and so the little fella was beached and flopping around gasping for air. God knows how long he was out... :(

I picked him up and added him back to the water, and he took off and hid so at least he is still alive. I sure he will need therapy now that he is scarred for life from all SPS caves. I feel like such an idiot.

lol... good one..

once I removed all my Live rocks to redo the aquascaping. i thought that all the fishes are still in the tank safe.. an hour later as i was placing the rocks back into the tank I found my little Clown trigger wedge in one of the hole on the live rock.. Surprisingly, the little guy survived.. out of water for a hour..

you got nice schooling regal tangs.. Jesus have the same schooling Yellow belly tangs.. they look cool swimming together.I'm thinking on getting a few..

I was fishing in Mexico two years ago and one of the guys caught a huge triggerfish. It was a foot and a half long and he threw it in the cooler and closed the lid. Three hours later we were at the fillet table and I saw the trigger twitching. I asked the guy if he wanted it and when he said no I put it in the water. Fish took off and was not to been again. Fish are tougher than we give them credit for.
Mike chould have F.P.S. called on him for his negligence and should not be allowed to play with water anymore. Mike, with all your rodi snafu's it would be cheaper if you just paid a service to do the water changes for you :D
