Who's going to MACNA XX?

Each raffle prize will have it's own bucket - and require a specific ticket. They will VERY ROUGHLY be by retail value - we will be pulling some prizes (prearranged, and posted) each day of the conference.

The Fiji trip is entirely seperate from the regular raffle - there are two different types of tickets for these - a $10 FIJI raffle ticket - where you automatically go into the bucket - and a $2 Suspect Guess Ticket - where you will put it in one of six suspect buckets (go to our MACNAXX website to see the videos giving clues to the mystery). The correct bucket of guess tickets will go into the bucket with the $10 tickets to be drawn for the Fiji trip.

We are also going to have a silent auction Friday evening during the cocktail party.

I'm with cobs00... would like to know what tickets are for what prizes, so I know which I want to buy...

Also, is there a list of prizes yet? I can't find one on the site

Thanks for all your hard work on this Margi (and everyone else who has helped!!)

im very excited about going to this and does anyone know where macna 09 will be?

SShindell (aka Steve - my hubby) - posted the raffle prizes I was able to put into the database thus far on several posts in reef central yesterday.

We do not have a good bit of the info on the prizes yet because a lot of the companies making donations are going to tell us THURSDAY before the show what they are donating.

The discounts offered online - will also be offered at the show - so if you want to wait and see - that will not hurt you at all (and then you can buy TONS of raffle tickets because of all of the cool prizes!!!). BUT buying some before hand will break up your costs (and help pay for the show!)

Thank you for appreciating the work - my goodness - it is a lot - but I am hoping MOST people will appreciate that we are ALL VOLUNTEERS and at least give the volunteers a "THANK YOU" during the show. We have had a core crew of about 20 people for the past YEAR working to make this happen. We are doing the best we know how to do - while working (our paying jobs) taking care of our families and whatever else we try to do normally.

Thank you - AND FOR ANYONE NOT COMING - WHY?????? 35 speakers - 150 vendor booths - Georgia Aquarium - relatively inexpensive airfare (Atlanta is a major hub) - CHEAP ground transportation - great hotel rates - great show!!!

I'll be there. Flying in Friday morning.

I've been waiting for this since I registered for MACNA XX last September!!

My wife and I will be there. We missed last year, but enjoyed the Houston MACNA very much. I wish we could attend every year, but it is not always possible.

I will be there along with several members of the Greensboro, NC club, SEA-T. This will be my first, so I'm really excited. One question, do you have to be present for the raffle. I was going to buy tickets online, but not sure if I can still be there for the raffle Sunday afternoon.

Planning large events myself, I know exactly what you mean Margi, regarding the amount of time you put in to make an event succesfull. I really do appreciate what the MACNA XX staff are doing to make this happen.

A BIG THANK-YOU to you all for your HARD WORK!!!

I will be there for my first MACNA. I have been registered since early bird specials. I have a flight on airtran because it is a hub and fairly cheap. Looking forward to meeting everybody.

Can anyone elaborate on this raffle question. I'm interested too.

Also to add to the last comment. The last raffle started at 1pm in Pittsburgh and ended at 4:00pm. Is there another quicker method to dispense prizes? Just curious as I have a flight at 5:00pm leaving Atlanta on Sunday.

Yes you have to be present, but this year we are staggering the raffles to end throughout the conference, so not all will end in a LONG session on Sunday. You will know when you have to be present for the individual raffles you bid on.

The wife and I are going with fellow reefers from ORCA can't wait. There is about 25 or more from the club going. We got shirts so look for us there.
