I'm shocked it's only $5.00! The cost to rent space, pay personnel, etc is pretty staggering in this area in order to run any type of convention. $5.00 is the deal of the year.

Perhaps they decided to put the cost on the vendors more than the people showing up?

It's a tricky balance between less overall cost bringing more potential customers and passing the cost to the customer getting happier vendors but less people showing up. I don't really have a feel on the pulse of your typical bay area reef person, but Reef Raft took a chance to 'break into this market" and I think they were anticipating many more "high end" reefers that just were not there (hence why they went out of business)
