Eileen, I'm using a mag12 since thats what i have already as a return. but i am thinking about getting another pump with comparable flow with less watts.

i love the way a high tank looks, better viewing for me (i'm 6'4") and the kids wont be able to reach the vortecs.

I agree with the height issue. I would've bought an ELOS system, except their cabnets were 30" tall =( I'm tired of pulling up a chair and sitting to look, I'd rather be able to come by and just take a glance...

and otherwise, pull up a bar stool ya know?

My stand is 38" tall and my tank is ~22" tall, it's perfect! and then my hanging pendant can be the living room's main light haha =)

So where are you at now Chris?? :D
My stand should be done in 2 weeks. I should receive my return pump this week. I still need some more sand.

Anyone has sand (dead or alive) for sale?? :)

Nothing much. I didn't have much time last weekend. I spent like 3 hours to look for a nice piece of plywood for the outside. $110 for 2 pieces of plywood  .. I'm painting the frame right now. I will try to finish building it this weekend and staining after that.
Are you done with yours??

$110 for 2 pieces of plywood?!? Did you get it at southern lumber? i went and checked them out this weekend......real nice lumber they got there. not so nice on the wallet tho! Sheet of maple was like 70 or 80 bucks if i remember correctly. mines nowhere near done. Still need to glue and screw in supports, sand then water seal. hopefully i can get the face and sides on by next weekend.

Hey Phong,
I have a lot of sand if you want it. It's not super fine though. It used to have aptasia all over it but not anymore.

Yup I got them there :D .. I went to HD and got a shi11y support from lumber dude so I left. Yup their price is a bit high but a lot nicer than HD's stuff. Customer service is great too.

Cool Matt... let me know how much you want for it. I pick them up this weekend when I come to your house :) ..

you bumped this thread!:) I want to start the stand this week but work has gotten in the way (again). you'll have your tank up before me anyway.

tell me what you think of this for a stand. i want it to have 2" steel beams across instead of wood so i wouldn't need a support beam in the front. kinda a hybrid tank part wood part steel.
