3 weeks ago I added a juvenile emperator angel and a coral beauty angel to my tank. The next morning the emperator began doing the Angelina Jolie lap-dance in the face of my 3 cleaner shrimp - who were doing the "ho, hum, yawn - let me know when you're done" and refused to clean him. This week on Monday the smallest cleaner shrimp was "missing." Wednesday or Thursday the largest cleaner shrimp was "missing." This morning I saw the emperator tearing the leg off my remaining cleaner shrimp. I tapped the glass to stop him and realized that the shrimp was dead. My peppermint shrimp is fine, as is my fire shrimp. The fire shrimp is the only one interested in cleaning the emperator and will spend 3-4 hours per day on him. My water perameters are all good (nitrate a little high). Is the emperator the terminator? Has anyone had their angel eat their shrimp?
