I have a 150 60x24x24 how many bulbs and how long is 48" long54w enough ?

You can do the 54w bulbs if you want on a 60" tank. I have 60" bulbs on a 72" tank. On a tank that is 24" wide you should either do 7 or 8 bulbs. If you are going to keep nothing but SPS, I would go ahead and do the 60" 80w bulbs instead of the 54w bulbs though. I have my monti caps and LPS on the edges of my tank where there is less light from the 60" bulbs.

My tank is 75 gallon. Tank depth is 24in. I have tek5 and teh2 so total 8 39w bulbs. Can I place my sps or monti at the bottom? Do I need icecap ballast? How long do I need to leave my light on? Thanks.

it is going to be a in wall tank so there will not be much on the sides and my euro brace is 4" on each side so the opening is 52" I was thinking 54w x6-8 bulbs would a nova pro with 6- 54 work or do I need more.

Have you removed the splash guard and did you add any fans to cool the fixture?
IC's would make it easy; but you may be able to get away with some monti's down there (with the above tweaks). Give it shot, can always move the coral up if begins to lose color.

How many T5 bulbs would you do over a 30 breeder?

I use a 4 bulb fixture over mine and sometimes I wonder if its too much light being that the tank is only like 12 inches deep. I use this tank as a frag tank and keep majority of the corals about 2 inches off the bottom with great color.

My 20H has now been running under T5s (Aquatinics TX5) for about 8 months now and the growth and coloration has been phenomenal. Been reefing for a few years now and started with T5s, switched to MH, and have now gone back to T5s. Would never go back now :)

Just thought I would share some shots I took last night....

very pretty... what is your bulb combo?

Thanks :) Bulb combo is -

2 x ATI Blue +
1 x Fiji Purple
1 x ATI Blue Spezial
1 x Aquascience 22k

-Adam

thanks... what color do you see when you look at the aquascience bulb?? does it give more BLUE to the tank or does it have a touch of pink to it?

I have 2 Icecap 660 T5 Retro kits with 48" reflectors (8 bulbs total). I was going to arranged them in a "pendant" fashion with an island of corals in the middle.

Is this enough light over a standard 180gal for SPS growth?
What bulbs would you choose?

I switched from 2x 400w MH to ATI PM 10 x 54W ten months ago all because of sunnyX and mcliffy2 s' T5 sps tank. No regret!

Awesome tank Man !!!!!!

I really would like to know more about this tank !!

Can you describe your setup e maintenance ?

Best Regards

Great thread with some nice T-5 tanks, really nice color. I am fixing to redo my lighting on my 120 (4x2x2) and I was looking for advice. I've been running 2x250MH, I was looking at upgrading to the Outer Orbit 2x250 w/ 4x54w T-5s. However, after seeing all of the "all T-5 tanks" I'm wondering if this is a good option. I would assume with the 120 I would need an 8 bulb fixture? Would the current nova fixture with 8x54w t-5s work? Any opinions on the orbit or an all t-5 fixture would be great. Thanks in advance.

8 bulbs should do the trick, however depending on where you want to place the corals he Nova Extreme won't deliver the same output as a fixture like the ATI PM; meaning it can't penetrate as deep into your tank as the ATI. This is based on the reflectors and active cooling design.
