Whote meaty splinter

This morning i was looking in tank and fairy wrasse has this white meaty-like splinter sticking out of its face. It does not look like its in his mouth. Any ideas?

my best guess would be parasite that has attached there.. I had something similar on my powder blue tang, added a cleaner shrimp that ate it.. either that or it's a pot head... not sure...

Whatever it was i eventually saw my cleaner shrimp eating later in the day and the wrasse looks and acts fine.

Thank you. It didnt look likebit was in wrasse mouth but i saw a dead snail some hermits were picking at so my beat guess is it was a piece of snail?

Looks like it was a parasitic isopod.
