Why are the Hot Pink Yuma rics so hard?

sometimes they are dyed. most of the time the pet shops wony yell because they want to sell it. it depends of what type of person is running the shop. its a 50/50 shot when dying corals. sometimes they make it sometimes they dont. they sometime they will put the mushrooms in a dark place so that the zoo algae in them dies so they turn white or close to it. then they put them in water with dye. or they get a coral with color that is close to the dye color and dye it. when you dye corals it takes anywhere from a couple days to a week. god know how good the water quality is or what they are using to dye it with. thats why they dont always make it

Where are you getting your Yuma's from? I've had my pinks for 3+ years now and find them extremely easy to care for. The first Yuma I bought years ago regularly spits off babies. I would avoid any wild caught ones and stick with the naturally propagated ones if you can. Every baby that I have sold are said to be doing well and spitting off babies for the new owners. Here are what some of mine have looked like:
Main Yuma that drops babies (there are 3-4 babies on the bottom that you can sort of see):
tiny baby one (dime sized):

In my opinion because the majority of the ones at your LFS are bleached red or orange ones.
True hot pinks like Blazer88 showed are very rare to get in, but just as hardy as any other once they are healthy. Its just that most of the ones in the stores really arent that color if they are healthy.

Those pinks are BEAUTIFUL if I might saw....I more and more want a ric tank only!
