Hi

All yellow sps turn green in my tank. Why cant i keep yellow sps ?
I have 200 g sps tank zeostart fueled with 3 x 250 W hqi. green and red sps are Very Nice But blue so SO.
Kh 7,15 ca 440 mg 1400 phosphate 0 nitrate 0,2.

Whats the cause ? Is there anything i could do ?

thanks

Funny that - I can't keep green across - they turn yellow in my tank. I have a green slimer frag - was a great green when I got it. It's mighty yellow now.

imo, lighting & intensity.

I have several corals that were a bright yellow when I first got them, they turned green. I have recently gone full LED in my system and upped the par values, and now some of the greens are heading back towards yellow.

1. Iron, excessive Iron makes yellows turn green. if you dont dose it, check pumps and everything else, make sure no magnets rusting.

2. higher nutritions, if you use Zeovit, test kits dont work anymore, your N and P will be too low for them to detect it, so you need to go with how corals look.

HTH :)

Which bulbs are you using with your HQI? Also, how green are we talking? There is a fine line between yellow and green...

My hqi are reeflux 12000 k. Problem is not certainly bulbs since when yellow sps enter aquarium they keep yellow for about 1 week and then they turn green.

Interesting the comentary on iron. I have an inox fish net bordering the tank (2 inches above wAter to avoid fish jumping). Could that be a hint ? I must add that although i run zeostart i do not use zeolithes But siporax instead and that although phosphate is always 0 nitrate is 0.5. May i then dose iron ? Is there any kind of chelant ?

Thanks
