Why did my RBTA die

so last night I got another RBTA. After acclimation he was placed in a specimen container at the bottom of the tank with rock rubble.

I wake up this morning and he's attached to my mp10. Luckily I put sponge covers on my powerheads last night. He looked deflated but not injured whatsoever. I didn't want to leave him there. I turned the powerhead off, removed the sponge. He stayed attached and then I gently put him back in the container with no issues.

I tricked my lighting schedule this morning so I have blues on to see if he perks up. I'm not gonna mess with him this morning. I hope he finds a spot today.

Any other suggestions? I also have a koralia 850 on the other end of the tank. I've kind of covered that with the same type of mp10 sponge but it's not that great. Those slots are very small. Should I try to do something else with that until he settles in? I know this could take a few days.

Hi.i have recently added a rbta to my tank .its 1 year old with mixed corals .i possibly acclimised it a little longer adding water to the bag for about an hour.also I put it in a low flow area.it did move almost immediately .it headed down about 4inches,it stopped when it's foot was beneath a part it the jutting out rock but it's trunk and head are in the light.it has been there now for over a week.one sexy shrimp moved in straight away.sometimes it is fully extended and occassionly it frightens me by closing up even smaller than my sarcophyton can and looks awfull.but it's ok.there are pics of it somewhere in my folder.my parameters are the same as yours.i also dose the 3 things,except I usually add it to my 1 litre of top off rodi water.which I do daily.but I think a small shock of mg might send both rbta and sarcophyton into a little retreat until its safe to reemerge.just got to wait .also I think the hermits don't appreciate dosing at the time.they seem to slow down a bit.
