why do rics close under actinics?

i just bought my first corals 2 days ago....a single, small orange ric and a colony of 4 bright green rics that are decent size. i noticed that while all the lights are on, they look fine and open. when the daylights turn off and only the actinic bulb is on, they shrivel up to about half the size at least. but when the actinics go out and just the moon light is on, they expand again. is this normal?

i have green rics and under both lights they are open but when the lights are off and all thats on are the moonlights, they close up.

thats my personal experience with your situation.

most of my soft corals close for a wile when my main lights turn off/on
