Its not much compared to what some spend on berghias. Yes, it doesn't eliminate the problem but at least it looks fun to do rather than the aiptasia X etc... I'm sure or actually positive there would be a line for this in our club. My only concern is that it would be used too much that it breaks LOL.

I was reading the reviews and it seems like it was pretty good. I'd love to try it. I'd just have to get it before a weekend. LOL I'll PM you later this week. Thanks

Apparently it works by electrolysis (separating the hydrogen and oxygen in a water molecule, yielding two gases and no water), so I believe one could do some damage to aiptasia. I'd have too much fun with that. :uzi: :hammer: :dance:

You did notice the double bold asterisks at the bottom of the description stating "get it all or it grows back", right? That's its weakness, imho.

I borrowed CrippledStoner's. It was fun. Lots of bubbly goo mess!!

The result was more like fertilization than eradication!

I have a buddy that has one and it works good on the majano(spelling) nems that are large but seems like for aptasia it just causes them to spread.. My 2 watt laser is better for those buggers =).. And imo way more fun and I get to kick the wife out of the room while she calls me a dork.. It takes multiple treatments on most of them larger than a pencil eraser though also.

Lol they are fun for sure but dangerous.. I'd suggest a waiver be drawn up for the rental.. I have burned holes in my shirt not realizing where the reflected beam is at lol..

But I do have a hook up on a guy in San Jose who builds them if it comes down to it. Unsure why but I know high power lasers are kinda a grey zone legal wise with international shipping but I don't think they are illegal.

I got a complete entry level kit for like $180 shipped to my door 2w laser, goggles, batteries and charger.. The same power laser from other places (stores or sourced in parts) comes out to big money like $250-$350..It's super powerful but I think a 3w+ would be better to invest a little more $.. Faster kill so it's a shorter duty cycle = more kills per charge. Mine has a duty cycle of 90 secs on and 45 off so it doesn't overheat..

If anybody needs the info let me know I'll hook it up.

EDIT: you should see the beam on foggy nights it's like a luke skywalker light saber .. I can spotlight a tree on top of the mountain next to my house that has to be at least a mile away up Hill.. It looks like a big Blue block on the mountain =).. I had the tweaks up the street all tripping out at midnight the first night I got it shining it on the mountain.. I could hear them saying all kinds of stuff of what they thought it was =).. It's bright as sh#*.
