My donut coral seems to only "puff up" at night. This is fine for me but I would like to see it when I turn on the lights. Is this normal or maybe is it because of a recent wound?
Is it extending it's feeding tentacles when this happens? If so, puffing up like that will increase the surface area, thus making it easier for the coral to catch food from the water column.
They would normally feed at night, you can entice to feed while the lights are on by feeding it. It will take chunky food; krill, bits of shrimp, etc. You can also dust it with a coral food to get it excited or even coral pellet food.
